La Koeppchen (ou Këppchen selon la graphie officielle) est un lieu-dit situé sur le territoire de la commune de Wormeldange. Elle culmine à environ 250 mètres d’altitude. De là, on jouit d’une vue sur le village dans la vallée, la localité de Wormeldange-Haut, la vallée de la Moselle, ainsi que sur le village de Wincheringen, de l’autre côté de la Moselle.
Aujourd’hui, la Koeppchen compte parmi les points de vue les plus beaux et les plus appréciés de la Moselle luxembourgeoise et, au-delà, de tout le Grand-Duché. La renommée de la Koeppchen dépasse les frontières.
Mais la Koeppchen n’est pas seulement une attraction touristique, également appelée Këpp, elle constitue l’un des vignobles les plus renommés de la Moselle luxembourgeoise. Son exposition plein sud en fait un terroir particulièrement propice à la culture du Riesling. Grâce au sol calcaire coquillier caractéristique de la géologie locale, les vignes de Riesling y produisent des vins d’une belle minéralité, typique de ce cru. Ce terroir, ainsi que l’emplacement optimal des vignobles, fait que les vins de la Koeppchen figurent parmi les plus prestigieux et les meilleurs que la Moselle luxembourgeoise et ses vignerons puissent offrir.
La chapelle Saint-Donat
La chapelle sur la Koeppchen fut construite à l’initiative de l’abbé Henri Werner (1859–1934), curé de Wormeldange entre 1911 et 1929. Elle fut financée grâce aux dons recueillis lors d’un appel public auprès de la population locale, qui participa également aux travaux de construction.
Les travaux de construction de la chapelle, dédiée à Saint Donat, commençèrent en 1925 et furent achevés en 1927.
Le relief au-dessus de l’autel, sculpté par l’artiste Ernest Würth (1901–1976), originaire de Wormeldange, représente le Saint Donat.
Le Monument aux morts à l’intérieur de la chapelle a été inauguré en 1966 en présence du Premier ministre Pierre Werner. Le monument a été réalisé par le sculpteur Josy Jungblut (1911–1979), originaire de Remich.

The Koeppchen
Koeppchen (or Këppchen in the official spelling) is a local place name in the municipality of Wormeldange. It sits at an altitude of nearly 250 meters. From up there, you have a panoramic view over the village of Wormeldange lying in the valley, the village of Wormeldange-Haut, the Moselle valley, and the village of Wincheringen on the other side of the Moselle.
Today, it is one of the most beautiful and popular viewpoints of the Luxembourgish Moselle and, beyond that, of the entire Grand Duchy. The Koeppchen is also well known beyond Luxembourg’s borders.
However, the Koeppchen is not only a point of attraction for tourists — also known as Këpp, it is one of the most renowned vineyards of the Luxembourgish Moselle. Its southern exposure makes it especially well suited for the cultivation of Riesling. The shell-limestone soils, typical of the local geology, give Riesling wines their refined minerality. Thanks to this and the optimal exposure of the vineyards, the wines from the Koeppchen are among the most prestigious and finest the Luxembourgish Moselle and its winemakers have to offer.
The Donatus Chapel
The chapel on the Koeppchen was built at the initiative of priest Henri Werner (1859–1934), priest at the parish of Wormeldange between 1911 and 1929. The chapel was financed with donations collected through a public appeal to the local population, who also helped with its construction.
The chapel was dedicated to Saint Donatus, and construction began in 1925. It was completed in 1927.
The relief above the altar inside the chapel depicts Saint Donatus. It was sculpted by the artist Ernest Würth (1901–1976), a native of Wormeldange.
A war memorial inside the chapel was inaugurated in 1966 in the presence of Prime Minister Pierre Werner. The monument was created by the sculptor Josy Jungblut (1911–1979), a native of Remich.

O Koeppchen (ou Këppchen na ortografia oficial) é o nome de um local no território de Wormeldange. Situa-se a uma altitude de cerca de 250 metros. Do Koeppchen tem-se uma vista sobre o vale da vila de Wormeldange, sobre as encostas de Wormeldange-Haut, o vale do Mosela e sobre a localidade de Wincheringen, do outro lado do rio.
Hoje em dia, é um dos miradouros mais bonitos e apreciados da região luxemburguesa do Mosela, e, para além disso, de todo o Grão-Ducado. O Koeppchen é conhecido também para além das fronteiras do país.
Mas o Koeppchen não é apenas um ponto turístico de destaque. Conhecido também simplesmente por Këpp, é ainda uma das vinhas mais renomadas do Mosela luxemburguês. Isto deve-se à sua encosta virada a sul, que é particularmente adequada ao cultivo da casta Riesling. Graças ao calcário conchífero (Muschelkalk) que domina a geologia da região, o Riesling aqui produzido adquire uma bela mineralidade, característica distintiva destes vinhos. Esta combinação, juntamente com a exposição ideal das vinhas, faz com que os vinhos do Koeppchen estejam entre os mais prestigiados e de melhor qualidade que o Mosela luxemburguês e os seus viticultores têm para oferecer.
A Capela de Donatus
A capela situada no Koeppchen foi construída por iniciativa do abade Henri Werner (1859–1934), que foi pároco em Wormeldange entre 1911 e 1929. A construção foi financiada graças a donativos recolhidos de uma angariação pública junto da população local, que também participou na construção da capela.
A capela foi erguida em honra de São Donato. As obras começaram em 1925 e foram concluídas em 1927.
O relevo sobre o altar, representando São Donato, foi esculpido pelo artista Ernest Würth (1901–1976), natural de Wormeldange.

De Koeppchen
De Koeppchen (of Këppchen in de officiële Luxemburgse spelling) is een plaatsnaam in de gemeente Wormeldange. Ze ligt op een hoogte van bijna 250 meter en biedt een indrukwekkend panoramisch uitzicht over het in de vallei gelegen dorp Wormeldange, het hoger gelegen Wormeldange-Haut, de Moezelvallei en het Duitse dorp Wincheringen aan de overkant van de rivier.
Tegenwoordig geldt de Koeppchen als een van de mooiste en populairste uitzichtpunten van de Luxemburgse Moezel – en zelfs van het hele Groothertogdom. De plek geniet ook buiten Luxemburg grote bekendheid.
De Koeppchen is echter niet alleen een toeristische trekpleister. Onder de naam Këpp is ze ook bekend als een van de meest prestigieuze wijngaarden van de Luxemburgse Moezel. Dankzij de zuidelijke ligging zijn de hellingen bijzonder geschikt voor het verbouwen van Riesling. De karakteristieke schelpkalkbodems, typisch voor de lokale geologie, geven de Rieslingwijnen hun verfijnde minerale toets. In combinatie met de optimale ligging van de wijngaarden zorgt dit ervoor dat de wijnen van de Koeppchen tot de meest gewaardeerde en beste wijnen van de Luxemburgse Moezel behoren.
De Donatuskapel
De kapel op de Koeppchen werd gebouwd op initiatief van priester Henri Werner (1859–1934), die van 1911 tot 1929 pastoor was in Wormeldange. De bouw werd mogelijk gemaakt dankzij giften van de lokale bevolking, die via een openbare inzameling bijeen werden gebracht. Ook hielpen de inwoners actief mee bij de realisatie van het gebouw.
De kapel, gewijd aan Sint-Donatus, werd in 1925 in aanbouw genomen en in 1927 voltooid. Boven het altaar hangt een sculptuur van Ernest Würth (1901–1976), afkomstig uit Wormeldange, dat Sint-Donatus voorstelt.
Het oorlogsmonument in de kapel werd in 1966 ingehuldigd in aanwezigheid van premier Pierre Werner. Het monument is gemaakt door de beeldhouwer Josy Jungblut (1911-1979), afkomstig uit Remich.
